Go to the Backup & Recovery screen in Quest On Demand and click Go on the On Demand Backup and Recovery for Azure AD tile. The Dashboard screen will load.
Select a directory from the list on the Dashboard screen, click Unpack Backup and click Browse in the Backup Unpacking dialog.
Select which backup to unpack in the “Select backups to unpack dialog” and click Save.
When the Unpack backup task is completed, go to the Objects page and select the users and/or groups that you want to restore and click Restore. NOTE: If you do not unpack a backup, the Objects screen will contain no objects or show a list of objects that were extracted from the previously unpacked backup.
In the Restore Objects dialog, the following options are available:
Restore deleted users from Recycle Bin - Restores accidentally deleted users from Recycle Bin.
If a user is not found in Recycle Bin, create a new one - Recreates permanently deleted users and their group membership. This option is disabled if the Restore deleted users form Recycle Bin option is not selected
Restore object(s) membership in groups - Restores group membership information. If this option is selected, On Demand Backup and Recovery for Azure AD restores group and user membership in other groups. If the option is not selected, the tool restores group members only.
Restore all attributes - This option lets you restore all attributes of Azure Active Directory objects. If this option is not selected, you can specify specific attributes that you want to restore. For that, click Browse and specify the attributes.
After you specify the restore options you need, click Save.
You can view the status of your Restore objects task on the Tasks screen.
Open the Events screen to view errors or warnings, if they occur during the restore operation.
