Will this folder keep itself from growing indefinitely? If yes, jow does it do that; by folder size, number of files, or age of files? Can that value be modified? What determines how many events get saved in each file? Is it simply the events for a given period of time?

The BTPass folder is not monitored by the Dirsync agent, and will continue to grow. The BTPass folder should be monitored and manual cleanup of this folder should be performed regularly to prevent any slowdown on the DCs.
