A customer reported that, during the migration of resource calendars, meetings in Exchange Online displayed the organiser's name as the meeting subject. In the original Notes environment, the meeting subject was stored in the "purpose" field, which was expected to be preserved during migration.
This behavior is governed by the parameter SetResourceMeetingSubjectToOrganizerName
, located in the [Exchange]
section of the MNE configuration (Task Parameters or Global Defaults).
When this parameter is set to 1
, the subject field in Exchange Online is set to the organiser’s name.
When set to 0
, the subject field is populated using the original subject (the "purpose" field in Notes), which is typically the expected outcome for preserving meeting details.
If the parameter is left at its default or set to 1
, MNE mimics Outlook’s behavior for native resource calendars, where the subject may be hidden and replaced with the organiser’s name.
To preserve the original meeting subject during migration:
Check the current MNE configuration by opening the Notes Migration Manager or reviewing the notesdtapp.ini
file (if using the Self-Service Desktop Migrator).
Locate the parameter SetResourceMeetingSubjectToOrganizerName
in the [Exchange]
section.
Set the parameter value to 0
to ensure the original meeting subject is migrated from Notes to Exchange Online.
Save and apply the change, then re-run the migration task for affected items.
