Configure LiteSpeed backup with SQL proxy account
설명

When security policies restrict access to the backup destination and requirements are not met for SQL Services backup/restore operations fail with error: "Backup of database "Database" failed. LiteSpeed for SQL Server could not open backup file: (Path to file)."
원인

SQL Server and SQL Server Agent accounts need write access to the backup destination path.

Requirements

A proxy account with proper access can be procured and used to deploy LiteSpeed backup jobs.
1. Create a new SQL Server credential: Open SQL Server Management Studio expand Security->Right-click credentials-> click New Credential.
2. Expand SQL Server Agent -> right-click Proxies -> click New Proxy
3. Name the proxy and select credentials generated from step 1.
4. Activate CmdExec subsystem
5. Refresh the node and the Proxy should show up under Operating System

Deploy LiteSpeed backup jobs to run with the proxy account.
1. Open the LiteSpeed console
2. Select Backup or Multi-Database Backup based on the requirements
3. Configure the backup template
4. On the execute Script step click Preview CMD Line Script
5. Copy the script and cancel the wizard
6. Open Job Manager
7. Rich-click the instance and create New Job
8. Name the job
9. Add Step 1 and name it
10. Set step type to CmdExec
11. Set the step to Run as the configure proxy account
12. In the statement field paste the copied content from the backup wizard
13. Add the path to the executable at the beginning. The default is "C:\Program Files\Quest Software\LiteSpeed\SQL Server\Engine\SQLLiteSpeed.exe"
14. Set schedule, alerts and other configurations as needed
15. Save the job
