When opening the File System Auditor Report Configuration Console and selecting a report, you receive an error: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”
The report has most probably worked correctly in the past.
If the user creates a new report on the same file path, the correct results are returned.
This is usually found on a NetAPP filer or Network Attached Storage (NAS) device and is related to malformed mount points.
Delete the existing mount points on the storage device and re-create them.
If necessary, reboot the server to which the device is attached.
