Add alarm for open database transactions using DBCC OPENTRAN

Sometimes an application hangs & open transaction. If this is not resolved then eventually it will cause the log file to grow and use all the space on the drive, because SQL cannot clear out the committed transactions. Can a new alert be added for open transactions in each database using the DBCC OPENTRAN function?
