CRS monitoring provides the option of receiving alarms about CRS software, which is used for monitoring Oracle Clusterware. The requires creating CRS agents.
Alarms associated with CRS monitoring include
- CRS - Resource Offline (The alarm is invoked when a Cluster Ready Services registered resource goes offline. Depending on the exact resource in offline stat, the Oracle, application, or both could be having an immediate availability issue)
- CRS - Collection Status (The alarm is invoked when the Foglight data collection has failed)
- CRS - Usability Connection Availability (The alarm is invoked when the connection to the operating system has failed. Such a failure can result from a server that is not running (down), overloaded, or inaccessible from the network. When the database machine (host) is unavailable, the database is unavailable as well - either down or inaccessible, thereby possibly leading to application failure).
- CRS - Alert Log Message (This alarm is invoked for received CRS alert log messages, based on a predefined list of messages in the Global Administration. The CRS alert log file keeps track of general information regarding the CRS processes core activity. Errors associated with these aspects can indicate availability, usability or performance issues that require immediate attention.)
- CRS - Alert Log Summary (This alarm is invoked when the number of errors detected in the alert log exceeds a predefined threshold. The CRS alert log file keeps track of general information regarding the CRS processes core activity. Errors associated with these aspects can indicate availability, usability or performance issues that require immediate attention.)
- DBO - CRS Agent Not Configured (This alarm is invoked when the monitored environment is a Real Application Cluster and the CRS agent is not configured. CRS is the infrastructure layer which manages cluster coordination in a RAC environment. When the CRS agent is not configured, alarms on CRS errors and offline resource will not be invoked.)
Outside of the list of monitored CRS agents in the Global View databases dashboard, there are no dashboard panels in the Oracle agents dedicated to displaying CRS metrics.
