Native Powershell Support

Introducing native Powershell support for the Scripting module in version 10.2 of the KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA). Previously the KACE SMA online shell script only allowed users to define a batch script, if they wanted to run PowerShell, they had to wrap that inside a batch file and invoke through batch scripting. PowerShell scripts can now be leveraged natively within online shell scripts from the SMA.

To create a Powershell script:

1. Go to Scripting | Choose Action | New
2. Provide a Name for the script
3. Check the Enabled box
4. Change the Type to Online Shell Script
5. Choose a Status: Optional
6. Provide a Description: Optional
7. Add Notes: Optional
8. Deploy: Choose the device(s) to deploy to
   1. KACE recommends testing any new task on test devices before pushing to production devices
9. Windows Run As: Optional
10. Notify: Optional
11. Schedule: Optional
12. Schedule Options: Optional
13. Dependencies: Optional

    1. Script Text
       1. Insert Powershell Script here
       2. e.g.: Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_ComputerSystem
    2. Script File Name
       1. Add the script name (.PS1)
       2. e.g..: myscript.ps1
15. Click Save
