Why does the Detection status show a Failure code 27 on all patches? (4282896)

All patches showed a Failure (27) error code in the detection column of the patching results. 

Here is an example of a specific patch that resulted with an error message Error=27 in the kpatch.log with debug enabled:

Please check the following list of items on the endpoint machines that can cause the Error 27 message during a detection:

1. Make sure the kace.plk file in the following directory exist:

C:\Program Files\Dell\Kace or C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Kace

Note: C:\Program Files\Quest\Kace or C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\Kace for versions 7.2 and newer.

2. Make sure the local hard drive where the kace agent resides have plenty of hard drive space left.

3. Check to make sure the local system user environment variable for the Temp and TMP exists.

Directions to check on the local Windows operating system:

Control Panel | System | Advance System Setting | Press the "Environment Variables" button

Inside the Environment Variables windows, Check the "System Variables" to make sure the following two exist or create them manually:

Temp=C:\Windows\Temp

TMP=C:\Windows\Temp
