Unpack the downloaded .exe into a temporary folder, as shown below:
<wmwaretools>.exe /a /p c:\<tempfolder>
The installer GUI will appear. Click Next.
In the Network Location text box, enter c:\<tempfolder> again (i.e. c:\temp) and click Install.
The tools will unpack in c:\<tempfolder> directory (i.e. c:\temp).
The drivers are located in C:\<tempfolder>\VMware\VMware Tools\VMware\Drivers
Note: If you have a VMware Tools ISO, extract the content of the ISO file using a third party application, for instance 7zip.
In the root of the extracted folder structure you will find two setup files: setup64.exe and setup.exe. They correspond to the 64 and 32 bit versions of the tool.
For 64 bit drivers, run setup64.exe /a /p c:\<tempfolder>
