Environment: NetVault 8.6.1, NV server is a Mac, Client is windows 2003, Exchange APM 4.5.
Exchange 2007 restore: “failed to login”, able to do exchange backups without any issues. When checking the Exchange trace log from the client machine we see “'Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password”.
Went into the NVGUI, restore screen selected the items to be restored in Exchange. In the Backup Options, Security sub tab. Unable to add or change the password for the Exchange APM in the restore screen, when NetVault server is installed on a Mac server.
Setup Domain Management and Domain managed the Mac install of NetVault from a windows machine, able to change the password for the Exchange restore and do the restore.
