Without CMN or CMG Mail Connector; if the userA (source) sends an attachment to userB (target), the attachment size is larger than what it is sent.
CMN and CMG Mail Connectors are using the SMTP methods and message is encoded. During encoding process; it is expected to see 33 percent increase and it makes size of the attachment larger.
30 MB attachment may take 10 minutes to process and you may see 48 MB when it is delivered.
Once the message is sent by using MailConnector, the attachment is downloaded local %TEMP% directory. Once the processing is completed; the attachment will disappear from %TEMP%
MailConnector establishes the connection with Exchange while receiving the connection from Domino or GroupWise servers. Therefore, it is advisible to set the ConnectionTimeout, ConnectionInactivityTimeout, MaxMesasgeSize of the ReceiveConnector accordingly.
Default values MaxMesasgeSize of 10 MB - ConectionTimeout 10 minutes - ConnectionInactivityTimeout 5 minutes may need to be increased.
Also, if maxium message size limits have been set in Domino or Exchange, the limits will need to be increased by approximately 33% for messages of the desired size to flow properly between mail systems.
