We have a SQL Server which briefly drops connection to the OS, triggering alarm in foglight. By the time we get the notification, it has usually re-connected to the OS and is gathering the metrics.
You can increase the Connection Timeout for the SQL Server agent in the agent properties.
Navigate to:
1). Administration > Agents > Agent Status
2). Highlight the SQL Server agent and click edit properties
3). Increase the value for Connection Timeout (in milliseconds) within the OS-Monitored Connection Profile from the default of 120000 ms then save the changes.
For test purposes, you may wish to increase the value to something high like 900000ms (15min).
If the alarm occurs after making this change, please contact Quest Support
