I am running out of disk space on my C:\ of my Quest middleware server. On investigation there are many .dat files in the directory C:\Quest_Software\pa_agent\3566\agents\StealthCollect\data\ and instance specific sub-folders. Is this supposed to be storing this data if we have a repository database? Is there any way to clear these down?
Insufficient disk space allocated to Middleware environment
The Files in the directory <PA Install Dir>\agents\StealthCollect\data are for the Performance Analysis Short Term data storage. Data is written here before being loaded into the Long Term Repository Database.
Data can be held in short term storage for up to 90 days so there is an overlap with the Repository which provides a level of resilience.
The Agent installer Guide for PA 7.0 states:
“A standard installation requires 4 GB for each monitored Oracle instance”
Please ensure that sufficient disk space is available to meet this requirement and allocate additional storage if required.
