Symptoms:
If a copy of a NetVault backup index is required for investigative purposes
[1] enable libervbose trace on the database browser process
[2] enter the netvault restore gui & select the relevant plugin for the saveset whose index you are
after.
[3] select the relevant saveset & select the open method
[4] when the top level of the savesets contents have been displayed -
go to the netvault trace directory & check the contents of the nvbrowsedb.log file.
[5] the index file file should be identified by the following:

BROWSER :1144 41 0 704 Found 1 children
the file you want to copy is a binary specified by the line
Path to open is '<netvault database directory>/MediaDatabase/Files/Backup/nnnn/nn/nn'
for example
BROWSER :1144 4 0 704 Path to open is 'C:\Program Files\NetVault6\db\MediaDatabase\Files\Backup\0000\00\01'
[6] having identified the index file if need to transfer it so another computer or supply it to
netvault technical support please ensure that if you use ftp to transport it that transfer mode is set to binary.
