Description:
Instructions for accessing the Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager
With Oracle 10g a new web based enterprise manager has been introduced. Provided this has been installed and configured and the service is running, this can be accessed from a web browser.
The first Oracle Instance installed is by default at the address:
Windows:
http://host.domain:5500/em/
Solaris
http://host.domain:1158/em/
Where host.domain is the full address of your server. You can use the IP address here.
You will then be prompted to log into the database.
Subsequent instances of oracle will be at the same address with the port number incremented.
i.e.:
http://host.domain:5501/em/
http://host.domain:5502/em/
etc.
Note. You can find the port associated with each instance in $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini
Checking the EM services:
Windows:
On windows there is a service called:
OracleDBConsoleSID (where SID is the OracleSID)
Check that this service is running.
unix/linux
To test the status:
emctl status dbconsole
to start the em (enterprise manager) console:
emctl start dbconsole
to stop the em console:
emctl stop dbconsole
you can see the process in a PS list similar to:
/oraclehome/perl/bin/perl /oraclehome/bin/perl/emwd.pl dbconsole /oraclehome/SID_s
(where SID is the oracle SID).
