2] Information 2011/05/13 09:07:56 2766 Data Plugin GBKIN-FP01 Data operation completed successfully
The volume path was correct. The volume could be browsed on that Filer under the NDMP Plugin in the Backup window (this is the way to check that the volume exists, as the restore process does not create a volume for you).
The volume that was being restored to on that Filer did have the relevant permissions as well.
Unfortunately the CIFS Share window still didn't show the items that were restored, even though there were many files and folders listed in that CIFS
The issue here was outside NetVault.
The file that was restored successfully in the Backup window and that the restore job was logged as "successful" as well.
Deleting the old CIFS Share on the Filer View - CIFS - Shares section of the NetApp Filer and created a new CIFS share for the particular volume and that the correct permissions were granted.
Also restore the file making sure that the "Restore ACLs" in the Restore Options was unticked.
