How to automatically remove media from drive into slot after a time of media inactivity.
1] Go to the NetVault Device Management – right click on the tape library where robot arm icon is against the name and select Modify.
2] Click on the Configure tab – Right click on the tape library where robot arm icon is against the name and select Configure.
3] In the Configuration tab, change the “Return inactive media to slot delay (mins)” to “1”.
This will then return the media from the drive back to the slot after one minute of media inactivity, or for whatever time you specify in minutes.
4] If you have an Entry / Exit Port then under the Entry / Exit Port tab, the option "Need to be initialized when entry / exit port is closed" needs to be selected, so that the media was recognised as well.
5] Whilst in the Configuration tab in step #2, right click on the Drive this time and select Configure.
6] Select the Configuration tab and change the "Time between polling empty drive" to 1 minute.
7] Click on OK and save the new tape library configuration.
