Description:
VMware backups will fail if the NetVault Language Selection is set to Simplified Chinese or Korean. Mounting of Virtual Machines is also impossible.
Symptoms:
Backups will fail with the following errors in the binary log:
Proceeding to snapshot the VM
Failed to snapshot VM
Failed to backup VM '[vmname]' uuid '[uuid]'
Failed to backup selected VM(s)
Job completed with warnings/errors
Fatal error:
Job Status: Backup Failed
Attempting to mount a VM will fail, a information dialog will show an 'internal error'.
