How to create a report that will display only the jobs that have failed during a specified time period, and not jobs that have completed successfully.
For NetVault Backup version 10.0 and higher:
1. Login to NetVault UI | From the left navigation pane, click "View Reports" under Reporting. For NetVault Backup version prior to 10.0:
The simplest way to do this is to add another AND statement to the default report "Historic Jobs - by date"
Open the restore window, Right click "Historic Jobs - by date" report job, and select "Edit / View Job".
Highlight the component "Historic Jobs - by date" in the bottom pane of the window, and press the Edit button.
Add another AND statement to the filter rules like in the attached pdf.
In the example in the attached pdf, the report is modified to report on all failed and aborted jobs.
This field is a regular expression. You can enter whatever job status you want to report on, separated by ‘|’. Common backup job statuses are:
Backup Completed
Backup Completed with warnings
Backup Failed
Backup Aborted
Backup Died Unexpectedly
Then click on the save button, and run the report as you normally would.
The "Historic Jobs - by date" also reports on Restore jobs. Remove this condition to report on backup jobs only.
Conversely, this report can be modified to report on the jobs that have completed successfully.
This job accepts a date range as user input. This condition can also be modified, by editing the relevant expression.
