Specific problem with NetVault: Backup 7.4.5, APM for Oracle (Version 5.0) and Oracle 10.0.2.x on
When attempting to browse a configured Oracle Database under the Oracle 5.0 APM the user is prompted
to re-enter the username and password, even though these are already saved in the configuration a popup
box gives the error:
"Failed to connect to database."
"Please Validate database configuration and that you can connect to database through SQL*Plus."
SQL*Plus connection works correctly with same user and password.
After a restart of the Netvault services the database does connect the first time, then subsequently fails.
1) In service control edit the Netvault Process Manager Service
2) On the LogOn tab, select "Allow service to interact with desktop"
4) Restart the service.
