Title: Error 'No more processes permitted' when opening some NetVault windows
Date: June 07
NV Version: ALL
OS Version: ALL
Application version: n/a
Plugin version: n/a
Description:
This article describes why this error occurs.
Symptoms:
When opening some NetVault windows, the following error occurs: 'No more processes permitted'
The error message is generated by the NetVault process manager, when it fails to be able to allocate any more process slots to NetVault's process table.
The workaround is to increase the amount of shared memory allocated for NetVault's process table from the default values.
From the NetVault server:
1. Open the NetVault configurator
2. Stop NetVault Service (Service tab)
3. Go to Process Manager tab
4. Change the 'shared Memory (Kb) Used for Process Table to 16000kb (default is 500kb)
5. Change the 'Shared Memory (Kb) Allocated To a Progress Buffer to 10kb (default is 1)
6. Click the Apply button
7. Restart NetVault service in order for the new NetVault process table to be created
