What is the Consolidate Incremental Plugin used for and what is required?
Error: The Consolidate Incremental Backups Plugin can only browse from it’s local server
The Consolidate Incremental Backup Plugin is used to create a composite backup made of a Full backup and all its associated Incremental backup jobs.
This composite will then serve as a new “reference point” or "Latest Full Backup" for any scheduled Incremental performed against the same selection set.
The Consolidate Incremental Backup Plugin can only be applied to the Incremental backup of the “SYSVOL” and “System Files” components, as only these components can be recorded “incrementally” in a backup series
The Consolidate Incremental Backup Plugin can be selected for use via “Backup Selection Set” or “Backup Job”
Selections for the the Consolidate Incremental must be made through the appropriate Netvault Server.
Requirements for the Consolidate Incremental depend on the type of incremental backup used in the series.
If backup options include "Incremental since last Backup" A full backup and all incrementals savesets are required to consolidate the new full backup.
If backup options include "Incremental since last FULL Backup" Only the full and the latest incremental since last full backup savesets are required for the consolidation
