The document details the information required when BakBone Support has requested information regarding a SnapVault case.
Symptoms: None
When collecting SnapVault Manager support information:
- The following is required from the OSSV Primary system:
NB - $OSSV_Home is the installation directory seperate from the NetVault base directory
the default value is c:\netapp\snapvault
1.snapvault status output (goto $OSSV_Home\bin and type snapvault status)
2.snapvault destinations output (goto $OSSV_Home\bin and type snapvault destinations)
3.svinstallcheck output (goto $OSSV_Home\bin and type svinstallcheck)
4.RELEASEDEF file (goto $OSSV_Home and get the RELEASEDEF file)
5.snapvault log file (goto $OSSV_Home\etc and get the snapvault file)
- The following is required from the filer system:
1.snapvault status output (goto the filer console and type snapvault status)
2.snapvault destinations output (goto the filer console and type snapvault destinations)
3.snapmirror log file (goto /vol/vol0/etc/log and get the snapmirror file)
4.messages log file (goto /vol/vol0/etc and get the messages file)
- The following is required from NetVault:
from the netvault server
1.Binary log dump of the failing transfer(s)
2. VERBOSE trace of the SnapVault Manager process whilst the transfer(s) is/are failing
this is a persistant process and will require a restart of the netvault server process
3. VERBOSE trace of the SnapVault Task process whilst the transfer(s) is/are failing
this is a transitory process and
4. Run down of the SnapVault Manager's schedules (ask the user)
