If the JDBC connections are maxed out, the FMS will not respond and UI query will fail with error "Error Connecting to Server" or "Timed out". How do you increase the FMS JDBC Connection Pool for a FMS back end database?
Please first tune the database as per the Backend Database Tuning section of Field Guide Performance Tuning
SHORT TERM
As a short-term workaround, you can increase the number of JDBC connections in the JMX console to get through heavy processing. The increase won't persist through a FMS restart. Please see attached document ShortTerm Directions.
LONG TERM
This change in permanent and should be done after the database itself has been tuned.
Please see KB 93812.
NOTE: If using an Oracle Database the following are minimum suggestions:
SGA size (SGA (System Global Area)) = 2GB
Open_cursors (Init.ora parameter) = 1000
Process = 500
