Possible Workarounds includes:
1. Verify that Software requirements have been met especially .Net framework.
2. Log on to the computer as an administrator and try installing again. Make sure the account with which you are installing have Read/Write permissions on installation directory of choice.
3. Disable antivirus before attempting to install.
4. Using NETREGOPT which is a freeware utility to compact and optimise the registry and then attempting the installation.
5. This problem may also occur if the Administrators Group does not have write access to the All %:\Documents and Settings\Users\Documents folder.
To resolve this problem, the Administrators Group must have write access to the All %:\Documents and Settings\Users\Documents folder.
To give the Administrators Group write access, follow these steps:
a. Start your computer by using an administrator account.
b. To open a command prompt, click Start, click Run, type CMD.EXE, and then click OK.
c. Type cacls.exe "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents" /G BUILTIN\Administrators:F, and then press ENTER.
d. When you read the prompt Are you sure (Y/N)?, press Y.
e. Type cacls.exe "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents" /G System:F, and then press ENTER.
f. When you read the prompt Are you sure (Y/N)?, press Y.
g. Type cacls.exe "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents" /G BUILTIN\Users:R, and then press ENTER.
h. When you read the prompt Are you sure (Y/N)?, press Y.
