Getting the following message in the Foglight Management Server (FMS) log:
WARN [SQLAgentName JDBCMONITORED thread-2] com.quest.glue.core.services.TopologyDataValue - The string "e:\MSSQL$TEST\data\tempdb.mdf Server\MSSQL\DATA\tempdb.mdf" contains characters that cannot be transmitted to the FMS. The invalid characters have been replaced.
com.quest.glue.core.services.IllegalDataException
[...]
What does that mean?
This warning is caused by some SQL statements that return special characters that are being submitted into the FMS, for example the NULL value.
Messages like this mean that some of the characters picked up from the database are incompatible with what is being used and therefore are getting replaced with other characters before the information is passed on to the FMS. Without replacing the character the message cannot be parsed and transmitted to the FMS and will get lost.
The message will not effect the ability of the collections to complete and the warning can be ignored.
However if data in the UI is missing please contact Quest Support as this needs to investigated separately.
