Spotlight is unable to make a database connection although OS connection works fine.
Itttts a known problem, introduced in SoO 7.5. The problem here relates to the existence of an old .NET framework, version 1.0. It can be worked around in one of two ways:
1) Uninstall version 1.0 of the .NET framework, or
2) Change a registry setting as follows:
Go to registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\Policy\v1.0
The data value of this entry is "3321-3705". Change the value to a single number from 3321 to 3705. Typically you would choose this number to match up with the version installed, as shown in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework: for example, look for a folder like: "v1.0.3705". This change could conceivably break other applications that use version 1.0 of the .NET framework.
