Verify if a service pack has recently been applied.
Problem is being caused by Operating System.
Shdocvw.dll (Shell Document Object and Control Library) - The shdocvw.dll library is required by windows and is used to display the folders on user's system
(e.g. c:\program files).
Steps to Resolve the issue:
Step 1 :
Determine if the server had installed an update to Shdocvw.dll but has not been rebooted yet. At this point, the system could be in an unstable state as the Shdocvw.dll file on disk was NOT the same as what was in memory. Therefore we get the error message. Simply rebooting the server can fix the issue. If this does not help then go to Step 2. below.
i. Click start Run, type "regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocvw.dll"
without quotes click OK. ( The default location is 'C:\windows\system32')
ii. Once registered restart the server. Launch Backup Exec console.
If the above mentioned steps (step 1 and Step 2) do not fix the issue, then Copy shdocvw.dll as per the following steps:
If the system is With Windows service pack 2, copy shdocvw.dll from c:\windows\servicepackfiles to c:\windows\system32
If the system is Without Windows service pack 2, expand shdocvw.dll from CD to c:\windows\system32 using the following command; expand <CD ROM drive letter >\i386\shdocvw.dl_ <%system root%>\system32\shdocvw.dll
