Does SQL Optimizer use the existing Oracle tables and views to optimize SQL?
Description
When I spoke with Oracle, they tell me that in order to use the SQL Tuning and Optimization features within Oracle, the company must purchase the Tuning Pack from Oracle. I am also told that Oracle has a way to audit us to determine if we are using the underlying views and tables that are only supposed to be used if we have purchased the tuning pack. Does SQL Optimizer use the existing Oracle tables and views or does Quest install their own tables and views to gather this information?
