When trying to backup an AD LDS (ADAM) instance hosted on a port different from default port 389 the below error might occur:
"Unable to execute request (108). Unable to connect to LDAP server. Target server: localhost. Port: 389. Unable to connect to LDAP server. Server Down -2147221504"
Make the following change to the registry:
- On RMAD server browse to "HKLM\Software\Quest Software\Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory\" (also "HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Quest Software\Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory\" on x64-bit servers).
- Create a DWORD value key called:
SkipGetConfigurationADNotPresentError
- Set the key value to 1
If the issue still persists upgrade to the latest version of Recovery Manager for AD and then perform the registry modification.
