Getting Access Dienied error when trying to edit account for scheduled reports or actually schedule reports to run with a domain account.
The Edit Account is designed to hold only one account, which is the same account that logs into the machine where the reports are scheduled and generated.
Once the Edit Account is defined and configured, it will be used on all other reports that needs to be scheduled.
When trying to edit the account from PA GUI and delete/change/modify the current credentials, the ini file that holds the credentials might become currupted.
When it gets corrupted, you will get Access Denied pop-up message.
Also, the RSRunner.exe might have been deleted thus preventing a report from being scheduled.
1. Rename C:\Documents and Settings\user-name\Local Settings\Application Data\Quest Software\Performance Analysis 6.0\Common\AccountInfo.INI
2. From PA GUI, go to reports and check any report > right click > schedule
3. You will see NoAccount has been defined in red.
4. Edit the account
There is Knowledge Base Article 148629 which is about Domain/User permission issue related.
This might be helpful for this type of report schedule user issue.
Verify that RSRunner.exe file is present in the path C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Performance Analysis\MSSQL
If not present, you will have to reinstall Client. RSRunner.exe might have been deleted by Anti-Virus.
