You may observe the following problem when attempting to register a storage from an Exchange Server 5.5 backup by using integration with CA ARCserve Backup version 11.5 SP3: The Exchange Server 5.5 whose backup you want to register is not in the Microsoft Exchange Server list on the Specify Backed Up Exchange Server page in the Add Storage Wizard. This prevents you from starting Exchange emulation.

You may encounter the following uninformative error message when attempting to extract and register an Exchange database from a backup created with Veritas NetBackup version 6.0 or 6.0 MP1:
IDispatch error #1046
WORKAROUND
1. Make sure you keep the extracted Exchange database: After the registration operation fails, the Add Storage Wizard will prompt you to keep the extracted database files.
2. Take note of the location to where the wizard has extracted the database files.
3. Register the .edb file that belongs to the Exchange database by using the Access offline Exchange database, Domino databases, or .pst files option in the Add Storage Wizard.
TF00063573
When using the Add Storage Wizard to integrate with Veritas NetBackup version 6.0 MP6 or 6.0 MP7 and to register an Exchange database from a backup, you may receive the following misleading warning message:
Ensure that you have Veritas NetBackup Client version 6.0 or 6.0 MP1 installed on this computer. Backup retrieval and restore may fail if you have any other version of NetBackup Client installed.
If you follow this instruction, the registration operation fails.
WORKAROUND
1. Make sure you have Veritas NetBackup Client version 6.0 MP6 or 6.0 MP7 installed on the Recovery Manager computer.
2. Start the Add Storage Wizard.
3. Step through the wizard until you reach the Select How to Add Storages page.
4. Select the Access backup with third-party software option, then select Veritas NetBackup version 6.0 MP6 or 6.0 MP7 from the backup software list.
5. Step through the wizard to complete the registration operation. In case you encounter the warning message in question, disregard it: Click OK in the message, and then proceed with the registration operation.

Your attempt to register an Exchange Server 2007 database may fail with the following error message being displayed on the Replaying Log Files page in the Add Storage Wizard:
Nullable object must have a value.
This problem occurs when the Exchange Server from which the database originates hosts 11+ storage groups.
WORKAROUND
To register the database:
1. Use the Eseutil tool to manually replay the log files that belong to the database. You can do so by entering the following command at a command prompt:
eseutil /r <Log Base Name> /d <Path to the .Edb File> /l <Path to Log Files> [/t]
where <Log Base Name> is the first three characters in the names of the log files you want to replay.
2. Register the .edb file that belongs to the database by using the Access offline Exchange database, Domino databases, or .pst files option in the Add Storage Wizard.
TF00076663
