After installing the Quest Knowledge Portal access to the page is interrupted by "HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required"
The /Reports and /ReportServer pages operate correctly.
Even if there is no proxy server being used or QKP is local this error can still occur.
1. On the server hosting the Quest Knowledge portal, add the server's FQDN explicitly to the list of Proxy exceptions within Internet Explorer (If proxy is in use).
2. Use notepad to open the "settings.xml" file located in C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Knowledge Portal\Configurations\
3. Change "ReportingServicesURL" http value to contain the server's FQDN and retry the Quest Knowledge Portal page.
If the 407 error occurs after the above changes, also change the "ReportingGUI parameter" to the servers FQDN.
Example settings.xml section:
<settings>
<add key="ReportingServicesURL" value="http://servername.domain.com/reportserver"/>
<add key="ReportingGUI" value="http://servername.domain.com/Reports"/>
<add key="UsersRootFolder" value="QuestJagUsers"/>
<add key="QuestReportsFolder" value="QKP"/>
<add key="QuestDatasourceFolder" value="SharedDataSources"/>
<add key="QuestSharedResourcesFolder" value="SharedResources"/>
<add key="LogosFolder" value="/SharedResources/Logos"/>
<add key="ProductName" value="Quest Knowledge Portal"/>
<add key="RedirectPage" value="mainwel.aspx"/>
</settings>
