Databases showing up as numbers in Performance Analysis for SQL Server (PASS) GUI. For example,
under the Instance View tree | Databases | the names of some databases are 1,2,3,4.
Some databases are identified correctly while others are not.
The numbered databases are system generated database and not a real named database as can be seen in SQL Server Management Studio.
Typically you can see them when a DBCC CHECKDB is run on the instance.
None at this time.
Check SQL Server Management Studio whether these numbered Databases exist actually in the SQL Server Instance.
If not, then take a closer look and the numbered database will show that background activity of SQL Server generated these databases. These are temporary databases that the system generates when running DBCC CHECKDB and will disapper when the DBCC CHECKDB has completed.
