When an export data to Excel is set up in the Action Palette, it runs properly as an action. The data is exported to a file that is saved to the specified location. But after schedule as a task, it does not create the file where it has been specified.
When checked in the Task Scheduler, the job is found, and scheduled properly. The status shows that the job ran and was successful, but the file is not located at the specified location. Toad does launch and close as the job is run,and the file cannot be found.
When the action from the Palette is run manually, the file will not be created manually from the Task Manager.
If the file is not getting created in the specified location, your OS user may not have the correct permissions to run the task scheduled or to write to that directory.
WORKAROUND 1:
Verify that your OS user ID can run a task in scheduler, read from the Toad installation directory and sub-folder, and write to the specified location.
WORKAROUND 2:
If 2 actions are named the same then Toad won't run them. Try resetting the ToadAction (2) files located in the Toad installation directory\User Files sub-folder. Then create the action and re-schedule task as new again.
WORKAROUND 3:
- Close Toad and locate ToadActions.log file under C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\User Files folder and open file with Notepad.
- . If file has recorded the following message: "Password must be saved on login screen for command line actions. Database connection failure", then start Toad, login with the same Oracle account as in the Action and tick the "Save Password" check box at lower left corner of window. Connect, close and reopen Toad. Ensure the login account has the saved password on the login screen.
Waiting for fix in a future release Toad for Oracle.
