If you examine a stub object using ADSIEdit.msc and look at LegacyExchangeDN attribute, it is shorter than expected, and does not contain the Organization section. For example:
cn=Recipients/cn=jsmith
This can result in stub objects not appearing in the GAL correctly (the SMTP addresses can be empty). Mail flow can also be impacted when these stubs are selected from the GAL to send an email. For example, if recipients try to Reply to All, the address for the stubs is resolved to something such as:
IMCEAEX-Cn=Recipients_cn=jsmith@subscribingdomain.com
If a Free/Busy sync is also used, the following errors may be reported by QCS:
Error :<F/B Receiver> (38006) Unable to find the corresponding free/busy folder for <cn=Recipients/cn=user1>. Code : 0x80047f09,Description : (null)
Error :<F/B Receiver> (38006) Unable to find the corresponding free/busy folder for <cn=Recipients/cn=user2>. Code : 0x80047f09,Description : (null)
The correct syntax for the LEDN should be something similar to the following:
Exchange 2000/2003:
/o=SubscribingORG/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=jsmith
Exchange 2007/2010:
/o=SubscribingORG/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (<GUID>)/cn=Recipients/cn=jsmith
This may be caused by a corrupted QCS configuration or QCS may have been deployed incorrectly
For new stub objects, Collaboration Services will automatically create mail-enabled stubs correctly after you run the script.
For the the existing stub objects, unsubscribe from the publication, wait 1-2 hours and then resubscribe. Unsubscribing will remove the Exchange attributes from the stubs and they will no longer be visibile in the GAL. Resubscribing will force QCS to repopulate the Exchange attributes and populate the correct LEDN.
