Overwriting original VM
If there isn't enough storage space, the VM must be restored replacing the content of the old one.

1. From the left navigation pane, select
Create Restore Job2. Highlight the saveset that includes the VM that will be restored
3. Press the
[Restore] button

4. On the
Create Selection Set screen, check the VM to be restored. By default, all sub-items will be selected including al virtual storage drives.
5. Press the
[ > Next ] button to proceed.
6. Input the
Job Name.
7. Update the other Sets (Schedule, Source, and/or Advance Restore Options) as necessary.
8. Press the
[Save & Submit] button to schedule the job.
Create a copy of the VM with a different name
In the case where the original system will be kept, a copy of the VM can be restored with a different name.
1. From the left navigation pane, select
Create Restore Job2. Highlight the saveset that includes the VM that will be restored
3. Press the
[Restore] button
4. On the
Create Selection Set screen, check the VM to be restored.

5. Click the VM name and click
Rename...6. Input the new name on the
Rename/Relocate dialogue box; then, press the
[OK] button.
7. Press the
[ > Next ] button to proceed.
8. Input the
Job Name.
9. Update the other Sets (Schedule, Source, and/or Advance Restore Options) as necessary.
10. Press the
[Save & Submit] button to schedule the job.
Relocating VM to another ESXi host, Resource Pool, or Virtual Environment
The VMware Plugin allows the restoration of a VM to alternate virtual locations.
1. From the left navigation pane, select
Create Restore Job2. Highlight the saveset that includes the VM that will be restored
3. Press the
[Restore] button
4. On the
Create Selection Set screen, check the VM to be restored.

5. Press the
[Edit Plugin Options] button.
6.
Input the alternate locations in the
Plug-in for VMware Restore Options dialogue box.
7. Press the
[ > Next ] button to proceed.
8. Input the
Job Name.

9. Update the other Sets (Schedule, Source, and/or Advance Restore Options) as necessary. A new
Target Client must be selected if the alternate virtual environment or ESXi host is configured on the VMware plugin installation of another NV Client serving as VMware Proxy.
10. Press the
[Save & Submit] button to schedule the job.
