How do I manually create the Trusted API for GroupWise migrations using Migrator for GroupWise?
In some cases, the GroupWise Trusted Application key is not generated automatically and must be created manually.
Resolution
You can manually create the Trusted Application Key using Novell ConsoleOne. To create a Trusted Application Key, complete the following instructions:
1. Select the GroupWise System node on the left-hand pane of ConsoleOne.
2. Go to the Tools menu and select GroupWise System Operations\Trusted Applications.
3. Delete any previously created keys associated with the non-working MFG migration server. This is why it is important to use the MFG migration servers' workstation name in the name of the key that is being created. Do not delete any other keys, as that may cause other MFG migration servers to no longer function.
4. On the Configure Trusted Applications screen, click Create.
5. On the Edit Trusted Application screen, enter the following information:
Name: QUESTGWMIGAPP-<MFG admin workstation Windows computer name>
Example: QUESTGWMIGAPP-MigServer01
Description: An explanation of the application name. For example, this could be the Trusted Application Name for the GME application.
Requires SSL: SSL is not required, but it is the recommended encryption protocol so that data transmitted over the internet is protected. Check the Requires SSL box to use SSL. Note: Enabling SSL has caused issues for some customers. If you continue to have issues after following this document, go back into ConsoleOne | Tools | Groupwise System Operations | Trusted Applications, locate the GME key, click Edit and uncheck Requires SSL.
Location for key file: Path to the destination folder to hold the generated key. For example: C:\Users\Administrator\
Name of key file: The filename of the key file without the directory path. For example: GMEKeyFile
6. Click OK.
(Note the location of this file as you will use the information later to configure your migration. )
7. Browse to C:\Program Files\Quest Software\GroupWise Migrator for Exchange
8. Locate the gwmigapp.ini file and open it.
9. Locate the [Groupwise] header and add the following:
TK=
After the =, add the value from the key file you created in Step 4.
Example: TK=7F12D4F10ABC000081FE9EF5CB9F94047F12D4F20ABC0000A013FA796D3FA0A5
Note: Do not surround the key in angle brackets (<>).
9.) Make a new line under the TK value you just entered, enter a new parameter:
UseTrustedAPI=1
Note: If "UseTrustedAPI" already exists, then it needs to be set to "1" if not already.
10.) Save the file.
You can now use the Administrator Driven Batch Migrator for migrating user's mailbox with the Trusted API function in place.
