FastEngine - How To: Getting started with MFG Fast Engine when migrating to Microsoft 365
Description
How to get started with the new Migrator for GroupWise (MFG) Fast Engine when migrating to Microsoft 365?
Resolution
The following INI settings have to be configured to use MFG in order for the FastEngine to work.
GroupWise SOAP URL will need to be set in the "gwdirapp.ini" file. This can be set by populating the SOAP URL in the MFG Directory Exporter and re-running the Directory Exporter. Otherwise, you can also set it manually using the following example:
In order to set MFG to use the new fast migration engine, change the following parameter:
gwmigapp.ini
[General]
UseFastMigrationEngine=1
SourceUseSsl=1
[GroupWise]
UseTrustedAPI=1
TrustedAppName=QUESTGWMIGAPP-servername
TK=
Setting the parameter value to zero (UseFastMigrationEngine=0) will revert to the old migration engine. Note: Switching between the Fast Engine and old engine and migrating the same mailbox will create duplicates.
The MFG Microsoft 365 migration admin account will need to have Application Impersonation rights. See the KB article entitled, "How To: Grant Application Impersonation Rights in Office 365 (90111)" for additional details. Note: It may take up to an hour before the Application Impersonation rights take effect.
