“Other Time” category -
Description
The “Overall Instance Response Time” section of the “Performance” tab within the “Tuning” has item listed as “Other Time”. How may I determine what makes up this “Other” category? -
Resolution
If you are getting a lot of time appearing in "Other", you should go to the waits drilldown under activity. This will have a detailed breakdown of waits by category in the chart down the bottom. You can then use the grid at the top to see individual wait events if it is one particular wait events or a combination of a few.
