Litespeed console reports a SQL instance is not reporting to the central, but there are no reporting issues between the central and the SQL instance. All my instances are really talking to the central repository

That means that the Litespeed central is up to date with the Litespeed local of the SQL instance despite what LiteSpeed reports.

When the console checks if a SQL instance is reporting to a central it queries the central repository server for its name and updates the repositories.list file with the name of the central.

It will then compare the name as seen in the litespeedsettings.ini file with this short name returned by the server itself.

In this case there is a mismatch between these two names and the console does not know it is the same server.

RESOLUTION

1. Go to the computer where the LiteSpeed console is installed
2. Go to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Quest Software\LiteSpeed (or C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Dell\LiteSpeed, if LiteSpeed version is less than 8.5)
3. Locate file repositories.list and open it with an editor
4. Check the server name shown in the ShortServerName tag.
5. Now go to C:\ProgramData\Quest Software\LiteSpeed\SQL Server (or C:\ProgramData\Dell\LiteSpeed\SQL Server,  if LiteSpeed version is less than 8.5)
6. Locale file Litespeedsettings.ini (found here C:\ProgramData\Quest Software\LiteSpeed\SQL Server) and open it
7. Check the value of the parameter centralservername. It must match the value of the server name we found in step 3. If they do not match please edit the Litespeedsettings.ini file so they match.
