When trying to install Toad for Db2 2.5.0.912 the following Registry error appears :
'An error occurred while initializing the Profile Registry. The return value is "-202905976". Contact your technical service representative'
RESOLUTION 1:
Uninstall Toad and Client and install them again.
RESOLUTION 2:
If there are no DB2 clients installed on machine other than Toad's , then perform the following:
1. Uninstall Toad
2. Run db2unins.bat to clean up your registry. This bat file comes with IBM DB2 V9.x ESE:
db2unins.bat -f
3. Reinstall Toad
If other versions of DB2 clients are installed, then uninstall them all and use corresponding db2unins.bat to clean the registry up, and reinstall them again.
RESOLUTION 3:
If the above has not worked then perform the following: (note that this solution requires to have full Admin rights on the computer.)
1. Look for the entry DB2MGMTSVC_ToadCom in the registry editor and delete it.
2. If an error appears , deselect the permission for this folder and afterwards regain it by selecting the permission again.
3. Reinstall the DB2 client and Toad.
