Viewed with Outlook
A user in Lotus Notes has his mail file migrated to Outlook/Exchange, and there are calendar invites which were not accepted and display in Outlook Calendar Scheduler as busy.
Native Outlook "unaccepted" calendar entries do not show up as busy.
A native Outlook meeting was sent for a time of 11 am - 12 PM and is not accepted.
Created another OL meeting at same time and invited same people. You will see they are free for the same time.
I have one user that accepted the invite and they show as busy.
I created a Notes meeting and sent invites to users. These users were migrated without the meeting being accepted.
If I create another meeting in Notes for the same time, and invite the same people, you will see they are listed a "available".
Created a new meeting in Outlook for the same time; these users show as busy when they have not accepted the previous meeting.
Solution
After researching, and confirming with our Exchange experts; we have found this is not a bug within Notes Migrator.
The way Microsoft Exchange/Outlook works; a meeting invitation arriving at a person's inbox is immediately placed on the calendar.
The only difference between an invitation from an external address and one from another Exchange user is that external one shows the time as "Booked" and an Exchange one shows the time as "Free".
Unaccepted invitations migrated by Notes Migrator demonstrate the same behavior as invitations received from external addresses. This is how Exchange treats externally originated invitations.
