A centralized reporting replication reporting environment (also termed as consolidated replication) involves sending data changes from various sources to a particular target. This solution briefly delves on whether copy works in such environment.
General information.
In this type of replication topology it may be possible that a target table receives data from multiple sources. If this is the case, the copy command is not suitable to sync the target table.
There may be a somewhat similar topology where one target database receives changes from multiple source databases. However, one target table receives changes from one source database only. It is configured in such a way that different tables originate from different sources and there is no one-to-many relationship between target table and the source tables. In this situation the copy will be able to sync the target table with its corresponding source table.
