Is it possible to connect with DB2/ODBC using different DSN (Data source Name) versions at the same time?
As this question comes up frequently with DB2/ODBC:
It is possible to use the same DSN's but they should be the same major release. You can connect using a v8 client DSN as long as no other v9 client connections, ODBC or DSN, have already been established.
The reverse is true as well. Once you've connected using a v8 DSN you're committed to establishing only v8 DB2 ODBC connections for the remainder of the (Toad for Data Analysis or Toad for DB2) session. It has to do with loading the client v8 or v9 db2app.dll. Once a version specific db2app.dll is loaded, you stick with that version until it gets unloaded - by restarting Toad for Data Analysis or Toad for DB2.
If this issue exists, it is recommend that the DSN's should be created using the v9 client. If the DSN's are all created using v9 ODBC drivers, there shouldn't be an issue.
