Quest Migration Manager (QMM) console hangs when switching to the "Exchange Data" tab
When examine for the last line in %programfiles%\Quest Software\Migration Manager\Exchange Data\EMWMigration.log shown as:
4/21/2011 2:12:45 PM EMWMigration::SQLConnect::WillConnect Status: 1 | UserID:
Migration console is unable to communicate with the SQL Server Database.
Investigate why the SQL Server Database is inaccessible.
If using SQL Express a common cause can be that the connection details in the Project settings are incorrect.
In the QMMEX console open:
Project | Open Project | Configure SQL/MSDE
Check that the servername is formatted like this:
SQL Server:(servername)\SQLEXPRESS
and not like this:
SQL Server:<Servername>
The New Project Wizard completes successfully regardless of the above setting but the console will only connect if you use the correct named instance.
Alternatively try to re-create the SQL Server database or re-deploy it on a different SQL server.
