Within Quest Installer, near the end of the Toad for Oracle install, user is prompted for my license key and site message.
The installer may report that the license key and site message does not exist or is invalid, i.e "No valid Toad-license found".
In the field available for manual entery of the key, a valid key is entered, but the installers continues to report that the key is invaild
"Unable to validate license key. Reason: The value entered into the license key field may have been entered incorrectly. Please check the value for the license key"
-or-
"The installer could not validate your Toad License.
You may have entered an invalid license key or an older style key.
You may proceed without entering a key now.
Toad will prompt you to enter the license key upon initial launch if needed.
Note:
At this time you can only enter license keys generated for Toad 10.x and 11.x.
If you have a key generated for Toad 9.7 and below, please skip this step.
Visit our support knowledge base for additional information on license key."
The QI installer does not recognize old format license key i.e. x-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
You may proceed without entering a key at this time in the Quest Installer. Skip this "Product Licensing" page within the installer by clicking Next.
After the Installer is finished, launch the application. It will prompt for a key upon initial launch if needed. The key can be entered again and verified under Help | Licensing within Toad.
If the key is still noted as invalid, there may be a problem with the specific key. Verify the following:
- That the key is the correct key for the product you're using (i.e. a Toad for DB2 key will not work in an install of Toad for Sybase, etc).
- That the site message is entered in correctly, as it is case and space sensitive.
Keep in mind that a commercial key cannot be registered in a trial install.
If there continues to be an issue with the key, contact Licensing (license@quest.com) to verify the key and/or obtain a new-format license key.
