Rule "Catalyst Database Space Checking" states DB space exceeds threshold.

Getting an alert from rule "Catalyst Database Space Checking" saying the Foglight database exceeds threshold of 98%.

The registry variable "DBSMon.MaxDatabaseSize" is set to the default value 93 GB (100000000000 Bytes).

This value should be altered to match the customers' environment.

The default value can be changed but before doing so, please check if the enough disk space is available. 

When using an virtual Foglight appliance make sure the partition is not filled up - look at solution 206354.

To modify the registry variable "DBSMon.MaxDatabaseSize" follow the steps below:

1. Go to "Administration | Rules & Notification | Manage Registry Variable"
2. Search for variable "DBSMon.MaxDatabaseSize"
3. For the "Global Default" click on "Change" to set a new value which better suits your setup
4. Save the change.

Monitoring the Size of the Database Foglight server comes with a rule, Catalyst Database Space Checking, which monitors the size of the database and triggers alarms at different severity levels. The following registry variable define the threshold used by the rule: DBSMon.MaxDatabaseSize (the intended maximum size of the database, in bytes) This rule triggers by default when 93.13226 gb in size is encountered. Here's how the rules message in the alert is defined: Database Space usage is at @var3%. This exceeds the Fatal threshold of @var4%. var 3 = #databaseSize# * 100 / registry(DBSMon.MaxDatabaseSize) var 4 = registry(DBSMon.FatalDatabaseUsagePct)
