During an install/upgrade or when applying a hotfix application stalls at “waiting for product initialization”
Possible causes:
RESOLUTION 1
In the UCA install directory open DeploymentManager.exe, Click Tools and click Regenerate Certificates | Generate
RESOLUTION 2 (for cause number 2)
Either disable proxy or allow it to bypass for local addresses to make the Query Engine start responding again.
RESOLUTION 3
If there is not a need to keep the data, uninstall and reinstall of the product can be done. Making sure the directory is empty after uninstall.
RESOLUTION 4
If there is a need to keep the data. You will need to upgrade to the latest hotfix (if there's a newer one available). If server is on the latest hotfix, the only other option for keeping the data is to follow this procedure:
- stop all services
- copy the Storage folder somewhere safe
- uninstall and reinstall the product
- stop all services
-replace the Storage folder (making sure to delete the one created by the install first)
- start all services
